We know that everyone is on edge concerning the pandemic that we are all experiencing. We hope and pray that every family member is safe and following all the guidelines prescribed by our government leaders. Based on current guidance, we plan to resume our training, tournaments and our end of season celebration in mid-May. This info as we know, is ever changing, so we are staying flexible with our plans in the upcoming future. Our goal is to give you solid communication, so that you will know our plan of action. Listed below are some updates that you need to know:
March 31st USA Volleyball announced they are, “...extending the elimination of sanctions for all USA Volleyball activities (including but not limited to events, practices, team activities, individual training sessions or anything covered by USA Volleyball insurance) through April 30, 2020.”
March 30th President Trump announced the extension of the Stay at Home guidelines until the end of April.
March 23rd Governor Cooper issued Executive Order No. 120 which included the extension of school and gym closures to May 15, 2020.
The health and welfare of our membership, volleyball families and fellow citizens is our primary concern in all decisions we are making during these uncharted times.
Ultimately, we must abide by all of these requirements, which means that at this time there will be no Jammers volleyball until after May 15th, 2020.
We hope that everyone is following the Stay at Home Guidelines, unless you are essential personnel and most importantly, we hope that you all continue to stay healthy and safe! Thank you again for your patience as we work through our operational and training strategies to come up with the best course of action. We will keep you posted with critical changes as they occur and we will continue to send out information as needed. If you have immediate questions, please email them to: Coachbarnes777@gmail.com.
The Charlotte JVA Challenge has moved to May 23 – 25 Memorial Day weekend, but we have not received any further information. We will follow up with those teams impacted by this decision in the near future, but please mark your calendars if this pertains to you and plan to practice the week prior!
None of our seasons have concluded, so by now everyone should have made all payments up to and including your March 15th payment. If your account is past due, it is vitally important that you bring your account current, as soon as possible. As always, you can make payments via PAY PAL or you can mail a check made out to Jammers Volleyball Club to: 15 Stillhouse Place, Durham, NC 27704.
We will make every effort to reschedule our End of Season Tournament and Awards Celebration once we can confirm availability of gym space.
Due to the recent announcement by the Governor of Virginia extending their Stay at Home period to June 10th , this tournament will be postponed if there is enough interest. We will continue to keep you updated as we learn more.
